I found out about Jennifer and her pups through a website search. Since I live in Montana and she is in California, I have not been to visit her home but I was very impressed with her website. She is very upfront and shows many photos of the parents which was an important aspect for me when I was searching for a puppy. She has quality dogs and tries very hard to breed to the AKC standard. I purchased a 9 week old, black and tan female Chihuahua from her. She shipped her via Delta and we picked her up at the airport the Sunday before Thanksgiving. She arrived healthy with a gleaming coat and plenty of fresh food and water. She is a happy puppy and is well socialized. I can tell that she was raised in a loving home. She adjusted well and has fit right in with our family.
Jennifer provided a puppy starter pack that arrived with my little Sofia. She was current on her shots and wormings. She came with a health guarantee, also. Jennifer has a phone line that anyone can call day or night with questions or concerns about their pups. She has answered all of my questions about the breed and has been an excellent source of information for me. Jennifer also screened me. She asked several questions about our home situation and our experience with puppies before she would agree to sell Sofia to me. She also described Sofia's personality to me and, after having Sofia at home, Jennifer described her exactly. I am very happy with my puppy and would, without a doubt, purchase another puppy from her in the future. I would highly recommend Jennifer Wartena.

2. Have you been to the above breeders kennel or home facility? Yes
3. If so, can you describe it to me? Eg. cleanliness, atmosphere. You can tell that Jeffinfer's focus is on her Chi's. She seems to take very, very good care of all of them. All dogs seemed very healthy and happy.
4. If you purchased an adult/puppy from the above breeder, can you tell me how old your adult/pup was when you received him/her? 7 weeks.
5. Did you receive advice on how to care for this BREED of dog? Possible BREED defects? How to treat if a problem arises? Yes. Lots before we adopted our puppy and actually, even now when I have questions (my puppy is 6 months old), Jennifer is always willing to answer any question or give me advise. She has been GREAT!
6. If you purchased a puppy with papers, did you receive the papers in a timely manner OR according to the terms in the contract? Yes.
7. Do you have any extra comments? This has been such an extremely wonderful experience! I love how Jennifer loves her dogs. I love to share pictures with her - and she always enjoys receiving them - she truley loves what she does and loves to see how her puppies have grown. If we ever want to adopt a Chi again, I would definately make Jennifer my choice!!

I met Jennifer online when I was looking for a specific chihuahua. Since then, I have become friends with her. I have almost daily correspondence with her now. She is so dedicated to her dogs. She only feeds the RAW diet. This is a very time consuming and costly way of feeding her dogs. Her dogs are housed with her, played with by her children, given the best of medical care. If there is a pup that Jen even thinks is not growing as quickly as he/she should, the pup is rushed to the vet for testing. So far, all of the pups have been fine. She is just a worrier. I am currently on waitlist to receive one of Jennifer's puppies. I cannot wait. I know that Jen supports her buyers for the life of the dog. She even has a cell phone now so that clients can get ahold of her at any time of day. I would highly recommend Jennifer as a moral, ethical breeder that loves her dogs and treats them as part of the family.
